Like all of our furniture, each of our beds are made-to-order, so other styles can be made. Post, bedding heights, headboard sizes and styles, are all flexible - designed to meet the customer's wishes. All are available in walnut, cherry, mahogany, tiger maple, and flame birch.
We use matched sets of posts, and each post is hand turned the full length and is not glued up in any fashion. The hardwood rails are extra heavy, made in the same manner as their 18th century counterparts. The rails are tenoned into the posts and bolted with 6" bed bolts. Typically, the mattresses are supported by bed irons; we also offer an optional Swedish slat system. This consists of a number of closely spaced hardwood slats set in notched carriers, and eliminates the need for a boxspring.
